“Designer for a day” starts with an initial fact-finding phone call, then a one-to-one session lasting up to 4 hours on-site at your property in West Yorkshire. The session is tailored to your particular space and the challenge, helping to unlock ideas and move a project forward with confidence. This may include guidance on colour direction, lighting approaches, furniture layout, or resolving specific design issues.
Following the session, a concise design summary is prepared within a further 4 hours. This includes one clear output, such as a floor plan, a colour chart, a moodboard, or some furnishings sourcing advice; giving you a practical reference to implement the ideas discussed.
This service is ideal for homeowners planning a redesign, property sellers preparing a home for market, or those taking a hands-on DIY approach who want expert input at key decision points.

The design process
In a nutshell, the process of a full service interior design project follows this path:
Concept & spatial planning: Understanding the brief, the building and how the space will be used.

Specification & detailing: Producing clear, considered specifications to support accurate costing and implementation.
Furnishings guidance: Furniture, lighting and finishes selected to support the overall concept and longevity of the design.
Trades liaison: Creating clear plans for each different tradesperson involved in the install, checking on progress and quality checking the work.
Design fees
Ellipsa works on a fixed design fee basis depending on the type of project and the scope involved. An individual proposal and quote will be prepared for you.
